Susan is a human resource professional with over 33 years of experience at all key organizational levels within the Department of Defense, non-appropriated instrumentalities. Her expertise is helping to formulate large-scale corporate strategy and translating it down to the actionable level. She provides both C-suite board guidance to leverage the culture of people, value and capacity to enable global transformation while acting as an employee champion and change agent. Susan is thrilled to help Asylum Access achieve its mission of making refugee rights a reality.
Susan recently retired from the U.S. Army and Air Force and Exchange Service (AAFES) serving as SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer responsible for a workforce of 38,000 located at military bases in all 50 states, US territories, and over 30 countries to include sustaining support in the war zones. She was responsible for helping to create and implement the 5-year strategic plan, talent management, executive compensation, succession planning, board member support, compliance and governance, host-nation, DOD, and union partnerships and organizational design. Born into an Army family, she was raised at many DOD installations both in the US and Europe. She received her BBA from Northwood University and her MS in Organizational Performance from Bellevue University. Susan is a certified professional credentialed as Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
