Amina Swedi is an accomplished leader in international development and humanitarian work, with over a decade of expertise in empowering vulnerable communities, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees. Her leadership spans East Africa, where she has worked with various organizations to strengthen local capacities and ensure the sustainability of programs. Amina’s expertise in strategic planning, governance, and operational management has been instrumental in designing and implementing projects that foster community ownership and empowerment. She holds a Master of Arts in Project Planning and Management and a Bachelor of Education in English Literature.
As the Director of Operations and Strategy for the Resourcing Refugee Leadership Initiative (RRLI), Amina oversees operations spanning finance, human resources, and monitoring and evaluation, ensuring that RRLI has the necessary tools, policies, and systems to achieve its mission.
In addition to her professional work, Amina serves as an advisory board member for RockHealth, supporting healthcare initiatives for women and girls in East Africa.
