Webinar: Introducing the Resourcing Refugee Leadership Initiative (RRLI)
We invite donors, allies and other refugee leaders around the world to join us for a conversation with Coalition leaders to learn more about the Initiative, our strategy for impact, and ways to get involved.
Refugees are profound contributors to their new communities when given the opportunity ─ as evidence has shown time after time. And yet, many are prevented from contributing by barriers to legal work, free and safe movement, healthcare and education. The refugee response system tries to fix this by spending billions annually, which goes mostly toward international NGOs that sit, literally and figuratively, far from experiences of displacement.
History has been clear that community leaders are best suited to challenge the barriers they face. And refugee-led organizations already play a critical role in refugee response ─ designing and leading solutions that include the provision of legal assistance, mutual aid, responding to COVID-19 and beyond. It’s time we support the vital work of refugee leaders directly.
The Resourcing Refugee Leadership Coalition is catalyzing this change. Our six organization strong global coalition ─ and recent winner of the $10 million Larsen Lam ICONIQ Impact Award! ─ will shift funding and control directly to refugee-led organizations, feeding a movement of people with a shared experience of injustice, and connecting them with more resources to build collective power.
Join us for a conversation with Coalition leaders to learn more about the Initiative, our strategy for impact, and ways to get involved.
