Volunteer Opportunity For LGBTQI+ Refugees

πŸ“’ Asylum Access Thailand (AAT) is seeking one individual with lived experience of forced displacement to join our team of community paralegals and work with the refugee LGBTQI+ community.  πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

🎯 Main Responsibilities:
β€’ πŸ“š Attend training on various topics, including laws and legal mechanisms, paralegal code of conduct, etc
β€’ 🀝 Join paralegal team meetings 
β€’ πŸ₯ Conduct legal clinics for the LGBTQI+ refugee communities
β€’ πŸ”„ Share information between the community and AAT office as required 
β€’ βš–οΈ Assist with legal casework: conduct basic screening, documentation, act as mediator, visit clients, refer cases to legal advisor, and provide legal basic information 
β€’ 🌐 Maintain a good relationship with and network within the community
β€’ πŸ”„ Share information between the community and AAT office as required 

πŸ‘€ Ideal Candidate:
β€’ πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ From the LGBTQI+ communities in Bangkok
β€’ πŸ‘€ Lived experience of forced displacement
β€’ πŸ—¨  Fluent in English OR Thai
β€’ πŸŽ“ Awareness of LGBTQI+ definitions, terms, and concepts, in the local refugee context
β€’ πŸ’ͺ Experience working with vulnerable groups of people
β€’ 🧠 Have problem-solving skill and proactively follow up with the community 
β€’ 🌈 Supportive of diversity and inclusion
